Sadie's Christmas pictures @ almost 4 months

Sadie & Tori came over to take pictures of Sadie in her Christmas dress. I set up Caraline's room like a studio with a big white sheet. Here are some of the cute pictures I got:

Thanksgiving & 3 months!

Sadie is 3 months old!!! We can't believe how much she has changed in 3 months! She is about 14 pounds!

Sadie's first Thanksgiving was at Grandpa & Grandma's house in Pawnee. She was really content. She had a great time with ALL her cousins!

6 weeks!

It is AMAZING how much Sadie has changed in 6 weeks!!

Happy Birthday, Sadie Laine!

Today was the BIG day!!

Tori & Russ went to the hospital at 7:30am.

At about 9am or so, they started Tori on patocin & they broke her water.

At 10am, Tori decided she would like her epidural since the contractions were getting painful.
She was still only dialated to 2 cms or 3cms.

I talked to mom & she decided to come earlier, & not wait for dad who was going to work through the lunch rush at school. Mom made it to my house about 11:30am.

Scott was planning on coming home between 12;30 & 1.

Russ called us at 11:50am & said "We are 10 cms!" Mom & I freaked out!! I called Scott & told him we needed to go. Scott rushed home & mom & I ran out the door as he was walking in!

We made it to the hospital at 12:30ish. We had to circle the parking lot three times before we followed a lady & took her spot!

As we parked thte car, Russ called again & asked "Where are you guys?!" I said "We are RUNNING into the hospital!" & we were RUNNING in the hospital!!

As we got the the fourth floor, & got in the doors, we saw Russ's mom, Carol. As she showed us where to go, the door was shut to Tori's room! We thought we couldn't go in! Finally mom knocked on the door to say we were here & Russ let her in.

The dr ran in the room at about 1pm. She must have been at lunch, because she had her purse. The nurses paged her THREE times! She said she threw her keys to the valet & ran in!

We heard mom getting excited & then at about 1:09pm, we heard Sadie crying & everyone cheering!

Sadie started nursing right away!

She weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces, 20 1/4 inches long. She has some chubby cheeks!

Because she was so big, she was having some blood sugar problems, so about 3:30pm, they brought her back to the room & told Tori that they wanted her blood sugar to be at or above 40 & right then it was at 40, so they needed her to nurse her right then!
So Tori & Russ tried to nurse her & she was too sleepy! They tried for 2 hours & had a terrible time! They even tried some sugar water, but she didn't want it.
In that time, dad, Scott, the girls, Lana, & many friends showed up to see Tori & baby Sadie.

They finally decided that they would try again later & check her blood sugar again.
Something must have worked because her blood sugar was up to 54. So that was a relief!

Lana was so excited, she was beside herself!!

The girls & I are planning to go up tomorrow so the girls can see Sadie. I can't wait to get pictures of them with their new cousin!

5 days until THE BIG DAY!

Today Tori went to the dr for her weekly checkup. She is still only dialated to 2 cms but she is 100% effaced, meaning she is totally thinned out.
The dr was going to talk to them about inducing the week of the 31st, but Russ asked if they could do it sooner since he is being deployed again on Sept 8th. So the dr agreed to induce Tori on Tuesday August 25th! Tori was so excited!! She can finally see the light at the end of the "baby tunnel"!

Tuesday, August 25th at 7:30am, they will go to the hospital! I will keep everyone posted!

We can't wait to meet baby Sadie!

38 &1/2 weeks!

Here we are, less than 2 weeks away from the due date!! Today Tori went to the dr to be checked. She is still at 2 cm, but 75% effaced. The dr. seemed to think that Sadie is just a bit smaller than 8 lbs!
We are hoping that Sadie will join our world safely & strong & SOON!!

3 weeks until the due date!!

Thursday Tori went to the dr to be checked. She is dialated 2 cm & 50% effaced. She is measuring 38 weeks. The dr said it could be anyday!!! We are waiting, but I won't say we are waiting patiently. I am having dreams about labor...but it's not ME (Katy) in labor!!

Here we are...34 weeks! We are 6 weeks (or less) from baby Sadie gracing us with her presence! On Saturday 11, we had a baby shower for Tori in Perry. She & Russ think they got everything they are going to need for Sadie. We all had a great time! Here are some pics of the shower!

Third Trimester!!

Here we go...the third trimester!! A picture of Tori at 28 weeks!

There was some concern with Tori's blood platelet count being slightly low (130,000) but they are keeping an eye on things & the count is stable.

The baby shower is July 11! Can't wait!

"Chubby Cheeks"!

Today Tori had a 3D ultrasound. Russ was home for a while & they wanted to do that while he was home. Lana went too. Tori is 28 weeks along...the final trimester!

At first she had her back turned & all they could see was her ear. Then the lady pushed on her belly to get the baby to move. Then they were able to see her more clearly.

She has Tori's round face & chubby cheeks!

She was rubbing her head & sucking on the umbilical cord & once gave a big frown!

Lana thought it was pretty cool to "see" her little sister! Russ is already in love with her!

We can't wait to meet little Sadie Laine!

6 months & counting...

Baby shower

Dana Turney Webb is pregnant too, due May 19th. We went to her baby shower on April 26th. Here is a picture of Dana (36 weeks) & Tori (23 weeks).

22 weeks

24 weeks!!

Here we are...Tori is 24 weeks pregnant, 6 months along, 18 weeks left until we meet baby .......We have a "name" but I'm afraid to say it, because it could change three or four times before she gets here!
My dad is not crazy about the name, so he said he was going to call her "Sam". Lydia wanted to name her "Treya" or "Treea" (remember, she's 4) so I'm not sure this girl will EVER know her "real" name!
I have pictures to post, but right now they are on my camera....I wait until I have at least 100 pictures to download them. I will post pictures after this weekend:)

Easter

Because of the weather forcast of rain all Easter Sunday, our family decided to have the Easter egg hunt on Saturday at Grandma's. Lana & Tori came up to Grandma's in Pawnee. At mom's that night, Tori was eating some spicy chips & the baby kicked her 3 good kicks in a row!! Tori grabbed mom's hand to feel it...an she didn't ever do it again!

Furniture & bedding

Tori & Russ got their crib from Babies R Us. We (Katy & Scott) had a crib that both of our girls used that was recalled for a minor thing. We got a voucher from the company for another crib from Babies R Us, for a value of $279.99. It was ONLY good for another crib. We didn't need another crib, but Tori & Russ did, so it worked out that they "bought" their crib for $25 dollars (+ the voucher). It is "expresso" color.

They ordered the dresser on-line that matched & found the perfect changing table at Target.

Tori ordered her bedding shortly after she found it. She also ordered a glider that is to be in soon.

After we found out that Tori was having a girl, we HAD to go shopping!!! (It's in our blood!)

Tori found this beautiful bedding at USA Baby & it was on sale!! She didn't want to buy anything without Russ seeing it & he was in Maryland! So we took pictures of it with our phones & sent it to his phone. She called him & asked if he saw the pictures he said "Remember...I can't get pictures on my phone!"

It is very pretty & it's NOT pink!! She didn't want pink or flowers. Russ would say it is very "Hollywood"! It's very "baby chic":)

March 25th, 2009 It's a ....

Tori is 18 weeks & 3 days. Today was the 'big" ultrasound for find out the sex. Russ is out os town, but she was allowed to put him on speaker phone to hear the tech to tell the sex.

We were SO excited we couldn't stand it!! Dad called mom to see if she knew anything because people at school where asking him.

I told Tori to wait to tell us what she was having until we saw her so I could video it!

She said everything was great, the baby was growing on track & the heartbeat was 135. Then she said that she was having a .....GIRL!!! Mom & I screamed & laughed!!

We asked her what Russ' reaction was...she said he went "Really? I'm outnumbered!"

We looked at the ultrasound pictures & couldn't believe it looked like a baby now instead of a "bean". Tori kept saying she hoped it was cute!! (Those ulrasound pictures can be a little scary!)

Now we have to think of a name for this little girl!

We are expecting!

Tori & Russ Furgason found out in January 2009 that they were expecting their first child together. The bundle of joy is due August 24, 2009. Big sister Lana, age 8, is very excited!
